    An engineering major is quickly becoming one of the more popular career paths students are choosing. With the increasing reliance on technology, computer science is becoming one of the most sought after majors. Computer science is comprised of analyzing, evaluating, designing, and developing computer systems. Chips, devices, controllers, smart devices, circuits, and computer structure are all apart of computer systems. Computer science majors  are comprised of understanding logic design, microprocessor design, computer architecture, and interfacing.

     

    Jobs available with a computer science major are systems engineer, software developer, Java developer, business analyst, NET developer, and software engineer. Software engineers improve the usability of software like email, word processor, internet browser, etc. used by companies and people. Pre requisites are required to succeed in becoming a computer science major. Students must have a strong foundation in math and science courses like algebra, chemistry, calculus, geometry, trigonometry, physics, design, and engineering concept courses.

     

    The best universities and colleges for computer science engineering degree are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of California Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Illinois- Urbana champaign, University of Michigan Ann Arbour, Georgia Institute of Technology, and University of Austin Texas. Companies that hire graduate students with a computer science degree are Google, Amazon, Linkedln, Apple Labs, Deloitte, HP, etc. The best part of this engineering degree is the starting salary of 65,300.
