NBA Playoffs 2016

The 2016 NBA playoffs are scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 16th. This year the NBA will be making some notable changes to the playoff format. One of the changes that will be taking place are that the final schedule did some adjusting. Also, the players will now be getting three days between games in every travel situation. This change will allow players to get an extra day of rest. During this year’s playoffs, the biggest change that will be occurring is that the seeding will be based solely on the record unlike the previous years. Last year when they based it on if you won the division. If you did you would be assured a top four seed. One team that has been doing incredibly well this current season is NBA’s Golden State Warriors. The team’s two sharp shooting guards, or the “Splash Brothers,” have already beat multiple records. One of these records include first teammate duo to drain 600 three. The team record beaters include most threes in one game, longest-ever home court winning streak, and quickest playoff berth ever.

On March 7th, Stephen Curry dropped his 300th three of the year in a win over the Orlando Magic. In doing so Curry became the first player in league lore to achieve this. Curry also became the only player to attain the single-season three- point record. First round of playoffs are expected to be shown on ESPN, TNT, ABC, and NBA TV. NBA TV will not be showing the second round of games but the other channels will continue to play them. The finals for the Eastern Conference will be aired on ESPN, the Western Conference finals will be shown on TNT, and the NBA finals will air on ABC.
