Fans are on cloud 9 with the new Megan Moroney album, Cloud 9. On February 20th, Megan Moroney, a country singer known for songs such as “Tennessee Orange” and “Am I Okay”, released her third studio album. With early releases of Six Months Later and Beautiful Things, this album was highly anticipated and has seen huge success with songs like “Change of Heart”, “I Only Miss You”, and “Wedding Dress”.

Moroney, a singer-songwriter from Georgia, started singing and writing songs at 16 years old and saw massive success with her debut album, Lucky, which won her a CMT award for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year for her song “Tennessee Orange”. The following year, she won the Country Music Association Award for New Artist of the Year.

Cloud 9 has 15 songs and 52 minute runtime, with a deluxe version on its way. This album has themes of heartbreak, happiness, self-growth, and healing. The whole album is a personal album that reflects Moroney’s real experiences with her signature style of country pop. Some songs talk about regret with a slower pace rhythm, while other songs focus more on self-confidence and have a faster pace. The album balances these themes well as it mixes gloomy songs with cheerful songs.

Brinley Cook ‘28, favoring the slower and more down songs, says that “the sad country aspect is so approachable and nice to listen to”.

The album has already gotten great feedback from fans and listeners. Many praise the songs of the album and enjoy the thoughtful lyrics embedded in each tune.

Kya Patel ‘28 says, “It is a great album and a great addition to her previous albums”. This positive response to Morney’s new album is seen consistently among fans.

Brigid Duff ‘28 said, “Even though it’s different from what she’s done recently, it’s one of my favorite albums”. With this feedback and the album climbing to number one on the Apple Music charts, Cloud 9 has proven to be a great success and a fan favorite.

On February 13 of this year, Moroney introduced her “9 Cities. 9 Days” mini tour. Tickets for this mini cost only nine dollars and would be bought on the morning of the event. Moroney visited New York, NY, Richmond, VA, Nashville, TN,  Athens, GA, Newport, KY, Kansas City, MO, Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Scottsdale, AZ. Most of these mini concerts include an intimate acoustic performance.

In December of 2025, Moroney announced her Cloud 9 tour, where she is visiting 43 cities from late May 2026 to early October 2026. Pre-sale tickets went on sale on December 11th, and general admission tickets on December 12th. This tour has helped build anticipation for not only the chance to see the artist live but also for fans to listen to the album, as well.
