If you don’t know who Morgan Wallen is, you’re missing out. He is a rising American Country singer and songwriter who currently has 3 albums out and many singles. Morgan Wallen’s third studio album has been a highly anticipated wait. After a series of singles being released, “One Thing At A Time” is finally here. It just released on March 3rd, and contains as many as 36 songs with features such as Eric Church, HARDY, and ERNEST. Nearly every song on the album mentions something about-bars, fishing, girls, hunting, backroads, boots, the Bible and many more country song references.

Since the release of his second album, titled “Dangerous: The Double Album” on January 29, 2021, many fans have been very anxious and ready for the next album. But he didn’t keep them waiting when he released a few singles and an EP called “3 Songs at A Time Sampler” giving fans a preview of his album.

After a week of the album being released, many students have had a lot to say about it.

Alex Vaccaro ‘25 said, “The album was absolutely banging and had no bad songs. I’ve been a Morgan Wallen fan for a long time and I’m very impressed with how far he has come. I can’t wait for his next release!”

Many songs on the album such as “You Proof” and “Thinkin Bout Me” expand into a Hip Hop/Pop kind of flow which has made a new influence on many up and coming country artists.

Morgan Wallen has made a huge impact on the Country community and has influenced many artists such as HARDY, ERNEST, and Jordan Davis. On the other hand, some of the artists that influenced him were Chris Stapleton, Keith Whitley, and Eric Church. Morgan dedicated a whole song to Keith Whitley titled Keith Whitley. He also made a song with Eric Church titled “Man Made In A Bar.”

Maggie Dolan ‘23 said, “I have Morgan Wallen’s new album “One Thing At A Time” on repeat ever since it came out. My favorite song at the moment on the album is ‘‘98 Braves.’”

Other favorites on the album that plenty of students mentioned were “Tennessee Numbers”, “Keith Whitley”, “Ain’t That Some”, “Thinkin’ Bout Me”, and “Dying Man.” There are so many different songs to add to your playlists and have on repeat. If you haven’t given this album a listen yet, you must do so!

On his song “Outlook,” Wallen kicks it off with some of his most best and vulnerable lyrics yet: “I used to think it was me against the world/ But it wasn’t/ Thought drinking’ from a glass half empty made it better/ But it doesn’t/ Gunny all the things you realize when that 20/20 hindsight vision/ Opens up your eyes/ Now my outlook on life is different than it used to be.” These lyrics are very important and send a deeper message to fans about Wallen’s life. He has had many ups and downs in his life since his last album, so he is now giving fans a sense of who he is now and how he and his music have grown. This recent album is a new chapter for Wallen.
