On January 12th of 2022, the fifth Scream movie will finally be released to the public. After months of anticipation, horror movie fans will finally be able to watch another one of the most iconic plots in the history of film production. Directed by Wes Craven, the movie’s original cast will be returning which will include Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette all of who have been in the film since the original movie was released in 1996.

Scream has a thrilling plot where the infamous Ghost-face targets young teenage girls by stalking them and harassing them over the phone creating a constant state of terror in their day-to-day lives. The story in these movies are extremely significant as they defy the stereotypical plot of thriller movies where the women or girls are portrayed as weak and in need of saving. In fact, the main protagonist, Sidney Prescott, has survived each of Ghost-face’s violent efforts to murder her.

The masked psychotic killer will continue to terrorize audiences once again, for the fifth time within the past twenty-six years. Scream, at the time of its release, was known to have shattered the standards of what a horror movie is as it played on the classic trope of horror cinema. With this in mind, the new Scream will undoubtedly surpass the expectations of horror fans everywhere while paying homage to the original movie.
