IPhone 6 vs IPhone 7

IPhone+6+vs+IPhone+7

It’s that time of year again and Apple’s new Iphone 7 is on the shelves. Released on Friday September 16th, the Iphone 7 is ready for purchase online and in Apple stores across the globe. So far Apple is off to a great start with online pre-sales selling out of the jet black version as well as running low on the 7s’s. In past years, upgrading your iphone to the newer model was a no brainer, but with the Iphone 7, some people are hesitant. Apple has gone off its familiar path with this new model by removing the audio jack and transferring the physical home button to a virtual one. Ultimately, the Iphone 7 is quite different than previous models.

Iphones are constantly evolving, with improvements and changes that sometimes make the dedicated apple users upset. Is this necessarily a bad thing? The iphone 7 is the most expensive smartphone ever sold. The pricing starts at $649 with 32GB, then increases to 128GB for $749, and finally 256GB for a large sum of $849. Along with the new remodel, Apple is introducing the new Air Pods. The Air Pods look the same, and sound the same as Apple’s wired headphones, but come with no wire. The wireless headphone automatically connects to your iphone 7 when they get within close proximity. Sounds great until you hear the price. For $159 apple customers can be going home with their very own Air Pods. This cost does not cover any insurance so if you were to misplace one of these tiny head phones it would be another $159 to replace it.

The audio jack removal was not just to inconvenience Apple buyers. With no more jack, the Iphone 7 has the room for an intel chip that makes the new and improved model more than double the speed of the previous Iphone 6s. One improvement is that the battery life increased significantly. This perk lets you go longer throughout the day without a charge. Also, with no more audio jack your phone will no longer get water logged. Thats right, no more broken phones because you jumped in the pool with it in your pocket. Some consumers can deal without the audio jack for not one but three great improvements on their new phone.

On the other hand, some consumers are not willing to give up the headphone jack feature. Using wireless headphones clearly increases the chance for people to misplace them and as stated earlier, these headphones cost over $100 to replace. In addition to this, bluetooth headphones give consumers yet another thing to constantly charge. Not only will they need to be charging their Iphones more, but also the headphones themselves.

In a recent survey by CNET, they asked their followers what they thought of the new Iphone 7 design. Of the 2,000 people who participated, over 56% of them responded that it was more or less the same design, while 30% said it was a great update. Additionally, they asked their followers what their overall thoughts were on the Iphone 7 and Iphone 7 Plus. Again, 2,000 people responded and of those only 29% said that they would buy one as soon as they could. Of those 2,000 people, 28% of people said they would wait for reviews and 56% were completely uninterested.
