On September 16th at 7:30pm-10pm, the Far Hills Fairgrounds hosted the second movie night of the year. After the first movie night being a hit, they decided to host it again for the second time. For this movie night, they decided to go with a classic everyone loves: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.  Most families and people that were interviewed stated that they loved the first movie night and couldn’t wait for this one as well! The ET Ticket prices were free for all ages. You could not buy the tickets online, but tickets were sold in person. The only thing that was not free was parking, since there is limited parking at the FairGrounds and they fill up quickly. People who had cars were charged $5 and could park in the parking lot if they wanted a good spot. If you could not get a parking spot in the parking lot you could park on the side of the sidewalk.

The Far Hills Fairgrounds try to keep the movies family friendly so all ages can enjoy the movie. Most families stated that they really enjoyed this movie and it was a perfect movie for the night. If you’ve never heard of ET, ET is about a boy and an extraterrestrial being who came to earth and become friends and it shows their journey as they get closer. It’s a great movie if you really enjoy sci/fi and adventure.

The Far Hills Fairgrounds who hosted the movie night did not offer any seating, but people who attended brought their own blankets, chairs, etc. They also offered free snacks. They were selling a range of different snack options from chips, candy bars, popcorn, and freshly grilled hot dogs and hamburgers.

“I really enjoyed the ET movie! It was very relaxing and a great setup for a movie night with friends. I liked how the tickets and snacks were free for everyone. I hope they have another movie night soon because I can’t wait to go back!” – Brooke Banghart ‘26.

The Far Hills Fairgrounds committee plans on hosting more movie nights since they’ve been such a hit. If you love classic great movies, you should definitely come to the next one and have a cozy night with your family and friends at the Far Hills Fairgrounds.
