This year’s Night of the Stars event will be held on January 20th at the Old Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ from 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. Students are to dress up as an actor or actress, athlete, celebrity, or character. Permission slips had to be returned no later than January 13th and were found on the senior class google classroom page.

Night of the Stars is an annual event hosted by Bernards High School for its graduating class. Each year for over twenty years Bernards High School Seniors have gathered at various venues in costume for dinner and entertainment as it is the start of project graduation.

As the beloved tradition continues this year, students are slowly starting to get excited for the night to come. With a DJ, dance party, photo booth, and prizes, Students can expect this year’s night of stars to be as epic as ever.

In the past, students have attended the event in group or solo costumes, dressing up as their favorite character, movie star, or athlete. At the 2022 Night of stars event, many seniors dressed up as iconic characters, including the Incredibles, the Flintstones, the Peanut Gang, Scooby Doo, Captain Underpants, Shrek, and many more. Other members of the 2022 graduating class came in uniform, dressed as their favorite professional athletes. Others came dressed as celebrities, including Adam Sandler and Joe Exotic, the Tiger King. This year, seniors are planning on getting even more creative with their costumes.

“I am really excited for Night of Stars because it will be fun to see all the outfits and dress up with my friends,” says senior, Hope Kaczynski.

Night of Stars is just one of many events held by Bernards High School’s for the senior class. To kick off the year, seniors gather on the turf for a Senior Barbecue. This year’s Senior Barbecue occurred on Sunday, September 11th. The next event is the Tricky Tray, which is a raffle that occurred this year on Saturday, November 5th.

After the night of stars, Bernards High School hosts the senior fashion show, where the graduating class will walk down the runway. To end the year, seniors attend the Senior/Faculty Luncheon on June 14th, 2023, and the Senior Breakfast and Last Blast on June 15th, 2023. All of these events make for a memorable senior year for Bernards High School’s graduating Class.

All of the special events and fundraisers are organized by Project Graduation, a group of volunteer senior parents, who raise money and participate in the planning of events for the graduating senior class. Project Graduation is a branch of the Bernards High School Home and School Association or the HSA. This years chairs are Stefanie Lesnik, Suzie Stevinson, Suzanne Lorenzo, and Melissa Kircher with Dawn Grossmith as the treasurer.

Seniors this year look forward to a night of stars as another event to make for a memorable senior year.
