Olivia Jade to discuss the college scandal

The biggest college scandal of 2019, which had 50 people arrested has just recently been laid out on “The Red Table.” The scandal included Lori Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky on Full House, arranging a way to get her daughters accepted into USC by making payments illegally to the school, in the end, Loughlin ended up making a total payment of 500,000 dollars.
Olivia Jade, Lori Loughin’s daughter, went radio silent after the scandal but finally spoke out after she requested to be on the Red Table. The Red Table is an American web television talk show hosted by Willow Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Adrienne Banfield – Norris.
During Olivia’s discussion with Norris and the Smith’s, Olivia Jade proclaimed she never knew about the dirty work her mom was involved in. Olivia Jade stated that she used to be oblivious and saw her privilege as normal life and has grown from this situation, although, Adrienne Banfield Norris wasn’t easy on Olivia for her family’s past actions. The topic wobbled on the line of race and privilege.
Olivia also provided reason for her silence and it was due to the legalities of the situation. During the time of the scandal, Olivia lost all her advertisement deals and along with partnerships; it wasn’t easy for her but she said it was the only way for her to learn.
With her mom and father in prison, she has had a lot of time to reflect and wants to gain the ability of a second chance. By a second chance, she means going back to school, most definitely not USC as she felt “humiliated showing her face” and that “she didn’t belong there”. The overall discussion ended with Olivia Jade being forgiven and understood by the three women that host the Red Table, although it’s still up for discussion how the audience felt about her apology on behalf of her family.
