On April 29,2016, Drake’s highly anticipated album, Views, was finally released.The cover is a photograph of Drake sitting on top of the Toronto’s CN Tower. The album features 20 songs with special guest appearances by Rihanna, Future, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Pimp C, and Dvsn. It also includes popular songs such as “One Dance,” “Hotline Bling,” and “ Too Good.” This album is currently very high up on the charts.According to Billboard.com,Views has been doing incredibly well and it has over 245 million streams so far and also debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart during its first week.Drake’s album beat Beyonce’s album Lemonade was beat by the number of sales from Views in the first week by 600,000 sales, according to Morning Ledger. It is also Drakes sixth straight number one album.
Drake made the decision to only stream it on Apple Music and sell it on Itunes rather than selling physical copies in stores. This decision worked out well after all of the streams started pouring in.
Along with releasing a number one album, Drake also announced his Summer Sixteen Tour with a special guest appearance from hip-hop artist, Future. Drake previously toured with Future in 2013 during the Would You Like Tour?. The tour kicks off on July 20th in Austin, Texas at the Frank Erwin Center and concludes in Vancouver, Canada on September 17th. Drake will also be performing at Madison Square Garden in New York, August 4th through August 8th. During July 31st through August 1st, he will be performing at OVO Fest in his home town of Toronto at the Air Canada Centre.
Recently, Drake has been announced as one of the newest members to join The Forbes Five. He replaced 50 Cent on the ranking for richest rapper this year. Drake also accumulated a net worth of $60 million.
