For the past four years, Bernard’s high school has been spoiled with the tremendous work of Ari Rosen. Following his graduation last spring, the student body was left with one question regarding sports photography at Bernards High School: “who’s next?”
Macklin Dunnder, also known as Dunnder Media, is a current sophomore at the high school. He began showcasing his photography online during the summer of his freshman year after taking photos at his brother’s lacrosse games. “I was dragged to my brother’s lacrosse game and I wanted something to do during them, so I decided to pick up my moms old camera and take pictures of my brother’s team.
From the summer of 2024 to the winter of 2025, Macklin came a long way with his photography career after he began taking photos for the girls and boys basketball teams at the high school. “I believe my photography career started to take off after the winter basketball season when I was able to expand my skills.” Not only did Macklin improve his skills, but he also started to experience tremendous growth across his social media platforms after the winter season. His following drastically increased, and he became very well known throughout the school. One of his most well received posts was of Aletha Reynolds ‘26 after she scored her 1000th point this past winter. “It was great to have Macklin at the game, capturing one of the best moments from my athletic career at Bernards,” said Aletha.
As the spring season rolled around, Macklin began to expand his content even more, as he started posting videos. These videos helped grow his page even more, and helped him gain more recognition in the high school community. The transition from photos to videos is one of the biggest leaps a videographer can make, and Macklin has been very successful in doing so.
It’s important to remember that Macklin is only a Sophomore and has nearly three more years to continue to expand his craft. If Macklin is already pushing out the level of content he is at 15, just imagine what his work will look like when he’s a senior. Thank you Macklin for all of the work you have done, and we can not wait to see all the work you will continue to do in the future.
