Junior Prom indefinitely pushed back following COVID-19 outbreak

The Junior Prom was originally scheduled for Friday, March 27th at the Basking Ridge Country Club (BRCC). The venue was secured with $1,000 deposit and the DJ was secured with $200 deposit. As of 3:00 on Thursday, 3/12, there were 202 guests on the guest list, however, on March 12th, the prom was pushed back without any definitive date due to the COVID-19 virus rapidly spreading around the country.

Both the BRCC and the DJ said they would work with staff and administrators in rescheduling the prom by offering alternative dates and allowing the application of deposits for a new date this year or next year. The BRCC and DJ were also receiving cancellation calls from other schools around the state.

As of now, the deposits and permission forms are being securely held until further decisions are made. In the event that the prom is canceled, all of the money will be refunded to students and parents/guardians. The staff has made a significant amount of effort and says they “will continue to make every effort to reschedule the Junior Prom, but it is impossible to make definitive long-term plans at this time.”
