On September 11, 2016, Alexis Arquette died of an AIDs-related disease after entering a four-day coma. Although Alexis Arquette´s specific illness was never disclosed, sources say she suffered with the ailment for a long time.

A Facebook post written by her fifty-three year old brother Richmond informed the public that the actress and cabaret performer’s death was peaceful, says UK newspaper The Sun. Alexis was surrounded by close members of her family as she passed away (notably her television star siblings Richmond, David, Patricia, and Rosanna). The family was listening to the classic, hit song, “Starman,” written and performed by the recently-deceased David Bowie in 1972, at the time of Alexis Arquette’s death. Richmond then went on to write a full tribute to his sister where he described how grateful he was “to have afforded the luxury of sharing a life with her,” finishing the post with “Thank you Alexis, I love you and will love you always.”

Alexis´s first acting job was when she was twelve, appearing in the music video for The Tubes’ single, ¨She’s A Beauty.¨ Her first major role in a film came at age nineteen, when she was casted as transvestite Georgette in the movie adaption of Last Exit to Brooklyn. Arquette then went on to appear in almost seventy films and television shows, her last role being Georgina in the 2014 film Blended before the disease fully consumed her health. Alexis is most known in the acting industry for her roles as Man #4 in Pulp Fiction and George in The Wedding Singer. (Information taken from Mirror website).

Aside from being an actress, Alexis Arquette achieved success with performing in cabaret work as well. Born Robert Arquette on July 28, 1969, she gained most notoriety from her work as a transgender rights activist after coming out as transgender herself and making the full transition to becoming a woman in 2006.
