The Bachelor Premiere Recap

On January 2nd at 8 pm eastern time, the Bachelor’s 21st season premiered on ABC. As usual, millions of viewers throughout the nation tuned in to watch Bachelor Nick Viall, be introduced to thirty women in the well-known bachelor mansion. This is, controversially, Viall’s fourth chance on the show as he has been on the Bachelorette twice before for Andi Dorfman and then Kaitlyn Bristowe, and then once on Bachelor in Paradise.

The episode began with catching up with Nick in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin where viewers are able to meet his family (again). Nick then received advice from former bachelor’s Sean Lowe, Ben Higgins, and Chris Soules who were honest with him. Lowe even admitted to Nick that “a lot of people don’t like you”.

After all the introductory portions of the show, the first night of the season began at the famous (and some say infamous) bachelor mansion. Nick met all thirty women with mixed impressions of all of them, and as usual, some women made interesting appearances to get his attention. One women showed up in a shark costume, another in an eskimo coat, and another on a camel. Although a lot of the girls made good first impressions, Rachel, the woman who announced that she loves vacuuming while singing around the house, won Nick’s heart and first impression rose. Sofia Torrens said that Rachel seemed very genuine and that she “hopes she will make it far in the season because she seems like a good influence for Nick”.

After watching the first episode, this season seems like it will be a good one. Bachelor fans everywhere are curious over what Nick’s outcome will be. Olivia Gill, a regular Bachelor fan, says that the premiere was “as usual, exciting and crazy” and she is “excited to see what measure the women will go to and how desperate they are going to be.”

Viall wants to give America a happy ending his fourth time around, and hopes “not to be the first Bachelor rejected at the end of all of this”. To see the outcome of Nick’s romance, tune in to the Bachelor at 8/7c Mondays on ABC!
