Every high school student looks forward to senior year: Prom, senior privileges, and fun school events for seniors only. BHS’s Night of the Stars is no exception! On January 20th, seniors will be able to dress up as their favorite characters from sports, TV, music, and movies from 7pm-10pm at the Olde Mill Inn. The night includes a buffet dinner, a DJ, and prizes. Prizes will be given for multiple categories throughout the night, giving seniors a chance to show off their costumes. Due to past fundraising, this event is free for the senior class. Many seniors dress up on their own, while others do group costumes with their friends. Last year, some notable costumes included Cruella DeVille and the dalmatians from 101 Dalmatians, the Minions from Despicable Me, and the evolution of Britney Spears. Costumes are usually taken out of pop culture, referencing characters from TV shows, movies, and popular figures.

Senior Cate O’Callaghan said, “I’m excited to see what everyone dresses up as, there are some really creative people in the senior class so it should be entertaining.” Many students like to go all out for this event, and students get really creative when thinking of costume ideas. A lot of people even start to think about what their costumes will be months in advance. Many groups get ready for this event together and spend hours prepping their costume. “It’s a great event and it’s super fun to dress up with your friends, and it’s definitely something me and my friends look forward to,” Senior Emma Britez said. For seniors, the permission slip can be found online and is due by Friday the 13th. Since it is a school event, all school rules apply. The night is sure to be filled with many funny, creative, and fantastic costumes, and is a great event for seniors to show spirit and hang out with friends during their last year.
